Joining The Warblers

Anyone with a lung condition or breathless due to covid is welcome to come and give the group a try and see if it is foA man singing whilst making actions to the song (tapping his elbow with one hand)r you. New people are welcome at any time. You can be referred by a practitioner, with your consent, or refer youreself to the group.

Practitioners
Please let us know the person’s name, contact details and lung condition.

You may like to watch this short presentation to tell you a little more about the group and some of the research evidence.

New singers
It is helpful to know when new participants are coming – so the song leader has an understanding of your individual needs and so we can look out for you. But you will not be turned away if you just show up.

A typical session includes:

  • Gentle physical warm up exercises (seated if that is best for you)
  • Breathing exercises
  • Vocal warm up exercises
  • A range of songs

Covid
We take the risk of covid seriously and follow risk mitigation measures, including:

  • keep at least 1m distance between singers
  • make sure the room is well ventilated and check CO2 levels stay within a safe range with a CO2 detector
  • ask particpants not to attend if they are unwell in any way

We ask for a donation of £4/2 per session, but cost should not be a barrier to anyone coming. The important thing is that you come and sing.
